Monogamy isn’t for everyone.

Polyamory isn’t for everyone.

Both of those ideas can coexist.

I’m, I’m at my capacity,

This show was so good,  It was DC based but no actual super hero’s were ever seen on the show. Just talked about, it’s supposed to be a tech company that created devices to help the every day person deal with supers in their lives.

That is such a funny concept and I already care so much more about these character’s lives than the actual superhero stuff that I’m already sad it got cancelled before I even heard about it. Y’all just gave me the entire experience of getting invested in and then mourning a TV show in one single image post.

Not only is not an asshole he’s an absolute King

me on reading the title: I think you are TA, sir

me halfway through: okay, sounds fair, but “you’re not pretty enough to be acting this way” still sounds—

me, when she’s the one to bring up her modelling career (and therefore appearance) and use it to try to threaten him: sir, you are a model of restraint.

People, especially games, get eldritch madness wrong a lot and it’s really such a shame.

An ant doesn’t start babbling when they see a circuit board. They find it strange, to them it is a landscape of strange angles and humming monoliths. They may be scared, but that is not madness.

Madness comes when the ant, for a moment, can see as a human does.

It understands those markings are words, symbols with meaning, like a pheromone but infinitely more complex. It can travel unimaginable distances, to lands unlike anything it has seen before. It knows of mirth, embarrassment, love, concepts unimaginable before this moment, and then…

It’s an ant again.

Echoes of things it cannot comprehend swirl around its mind. It cannot make use of this knowledge, but it still remembers. How is it supposed to return to its life? The more the ant saw the harder it is for it to forget. It needs to see it again, understand again. It will do anything to show others, to show itself, nothing else in this tiny world matters.

This is madness.

Thank you for this good PSA because I’m still seeing sincere, published, professional writers doing “ahhhhh oh no this monster was SO UGLY i’m mentally ill now!”

I once saw a postulation that if an ant was instantaneously turned into a human, via magic or whatever I guess, the extreme increase in brain matter would drive the ant insane and it would scream until it died. The body doesn’t react well to sudden changes of any kind, to be forcibly expanded beyond a hundredfold would tear the mind apart.

That postulation comes courtesy Animorphs! I forget which book, but an ant gets mistakenly morphed into a human body. It doesn’t gain human memories or understanding, it just suddenly goes from an ant’s sensory perception and brain chemistry to those of a human, so yeah it does basically nothing but convulse and scream which I think is 100% what would happen.

2day my linguistics professor asked people to name some ships bc she was talking about morphology & how ship names were an example of blending and the room of 100+ people was completely silent bc who wants to expose themselves?? until this one person was like “umm johnlock” and i heard someone behind me go “oh my god……. i hate this”

This is the opposite of one of those posts that would have been wildly popular about 7 years ago that went like, “I made a reference to my OTP in class and omg, the teacher got the reference and they ship it too?? And everyone clapped.”

white people hijack every single movement they join

white feminism is inherently racist and white women are a danger to poc

trends on tiktok like the ‘shut it off’ one show how self trained white women are to cry on command to get things they want, this does not mean anything by itself, but in the context of historical incidents, this is not only a weapon but one that can be pulled at any moment of disagreement with a poc, most commonly men of color therefore weaponizing the security of the white woman over the “violent brown/black man”.

white feminism and white politics are centered around the exclusion of the perceived enemy which targets marginalized demographics such as poc, trans folk and sex workers, and about anyone who can be seen as a threat to the white womanhood and the white man’s rage.

this is encouraged to be rbed by white folk but I’m not open to discussing anything with anyone.
